FYI the only Yaesu I own is the FT-817 and as you know it does not have a way to activate an auto tuner from the radio. The other transceivers in the Yaesu 8XX line up include an antenna tune key to activate the auto tuner function for an attached auto tuner such as the MFJ-929, Yaesu FC-30 and ...

Issue with antenna selection on 817

I didn't notice before I set down to make some HF contacts using my wire beam. The CAT program defaults to the front antenna on the FT-817 and will not let me select the rear antenna. If I select it it changes it back. Any thoughts? 73
