Re: Receive Audio
I have been using a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 as my Android device but I am now using a LG G2x phone which does not have a built-in FM Radio so again I'm looking for ways to get audio from the FT817 to the phone. Ideally would be to simply use a Bluetooth headset (ear piece type) to pick up the audi...

Re: Faraday Coupling Loop
Thanks for your reply Dan.. "I don't have any HF vertical antenna in that location, but comparing the ML with my 80-40-30-17-15-12-10m Carolina Windom antenna mounted on top of a 8 floors concrete building(normally connected to my WebSDR server farm), the S/N ratio is in the favor of the ML. On...

Faraday Coupling Loop
A few questions on your coupling loop. I have built a few mag loops and researched most of what information I could find on them. Most of all that I have read uses a Faraday loop for coupling and it is mounted at the bottom, both of which were done for the maximum performance of the loop. I noticed ...

Re: Feature request
I will echo the request for a display mode lock. My tablet seems at times to take quite a while to recover from the display changing from landscape to portrait. It would be nice to be able to lock it in the mode of choice.

Receive Audio
I've been looking for a way to get the audio from my FT-817ND out the speakers of my android tablet so I would have a almost fully remote head. I have a notebook computer connected to the 817 on the bench for the digital modes so I routed the rx audio out of the notebook via bluetooth to my BT heads...

Re: Android Programming
I have a few things to do right now for my wife, but later today I'll shoot you a email with the schematic and a brief explanation of what I did to remote my T1.

Re: Android Programming
Sounds good, I will look into basic4ppp. I have a feeling it's going to be a long and cold winter here in Minnesota this year. Last year I learned about PIC's and wrote a small program that I am using to control my Elecraft T1 tuner that I have remoted outside with my Doublet antenna. This winter An...

Android Programming
Ok, here's my other question..... Any suggestions on what to read or download to get started in Android app programming? I'm 62 years old and I started programming "Back in the Day" with the 8085 and Z80 processors in hex. My first computer was a KIM-1 with 1k of ram that I soon upgraded t...

Re: Bluetooth Module
The HC-06 Slave module was ordered last night, estimated ship time is 10 days so I'll have time to dig through my junk box and see what other parts I need to get on order. The next step will be to get the audio (at least for Rx) out to the tablet. I'm thinking that for now I could plug a BT A2DP ear...

Re: Bluetooth Module
Ok, I blew the dust off of Windows Hyper Terminal. Set it for COM7 and now I can communicate with BlueTerm on my Samsung tablet. :D :D I fired up your 817 BlueTooth app and it found my Sony Hyper Terminal and I can see the data on the HyperTerm screen when I spin the dial on the Samsung. So, does th...
