Hello Dan,
I'm trying to setup my FT-991A to work with Pocket RxTx v3.3.3. I'm using jjAReC V4.2 on my PC which works great on local mode, I can control the rig and even initiate PTT.
My issue is that when I connect using PocketRxTX, the S-Meter changes to full deviation and something is clearly wrong there, after I disconnect I experienced the audio being really low and distorted. Doing a factory reset was the only way to bring the rig back to normal operation. I've not yet heard any audio through the app, but can troubleshoot that later - I'm afraid of damaging the rig right now!
I currently use data modes (SSTV/FT4/FT8) with the radio so I know the sound card/CAT control are good
It just occurred to me that I should check for rig firmware update, but I thought I'd ask if you thought I missing something obvious.
Thank you!

Hello Tim.
The topic was moved to the correct forum.
When you connect from Pocket RxTx v3 for the first time, you must set all the parameters available in the GUI, from all option sets. The values will be kept in the internal memory 0 and at next application start will be automatically applied.
What parameters did you selected for feedback?
No firmware update required to use Pocket RxTx.
When you connect over the network through jAReC, TCP is used for CAT an UDP for Audio. Check that both are open on the PC where jAReC runs.
I will send you an email directly with details about how to play with the new version of Pocket RxTx, currently in beta.

Re: Issues with FT991A S-Meter and bad audio
Hey. Also could I have that beta version.
Re: Issues with FT991A S-Meter and bad audio
Hi Dan,
I've been back and forth with the beta versions and found that v3.4b17 works consistently and v3.4b21 consistently breaks the FT991A speaker audio and I have to do a factory reset of the radio.
Let me know if you want logs or any additional testing, I'm happy to help!

Re: Issues with FT991A S-Meter and bad audio
Hello Tim.
Thank you for your report.
Please wait for b22, as I'm in the process of changing the full CAT engine from v3 to v5.
This will change the configuration files from *.radio to *.radio5 (the ones used by jAReC5 beta).
