Hi,

If you can wait a few days, I've just ordered from a local distributor a new Mac Mini to help me test this and some other applications.
Normally you need only Java Runtime to run jAReC which Is built based on Java 1.8.x.

I intend to build an iOS version of Pocket RxTx too, but this will take time.

I have had a few other Mac users contact me, asking if I have resolved the issue. I am so glad you have ordered a new Mac!
I know that others will be excited to get your program working!

Evidently, there is a freeware logging program called jLog. This page is titled "RXTX for Mac OS X: http://jlog.org/rxtx-mac.html
Am I correct in thinking that this has nothing to do with Pocket RxTx?

I've received the Mac Mini today, but I don't have time at all to take it out of the box till Thursday. I will need some accommodation too, as this will be my first MacOS system.
You're right, that site has nothing to do with my app, is just a communication protocol.

Let's take it step by step. I'll be back as soon as I will have some more info.

Not yet tested. I have prepared the system to start porting Pocket RxTx on iOS.
I will test jAReC too in the following days and be back with the result.

Hi,

I have tried this evening with a PL2303HX based USB/Serial module.
The following driver was required to be installed on the Mac Mini (Late 2014 with OSX ElCapitan):

After a system restart, the serial interface was available in jAReC.



I think you have a problem with your USB/Serial interface not being recognized by the system.

On which USB/Serial chip is based your interface?
I have tried with a CP2102 too, but I was not able yet to find the right drivers, so it does not work for the moment.

As stated in one of my previous messages, if the serial interface is recognized by the Java subsystem, then if will be visible in jAReC too.

Anyway, it seems to be a bug if running on a Mac: the TCP port and the serial port are not saved in the config file.
I will fix this in the next release.

Congratulations on the progress!

My TS-590S connects directly to my iMac using the USB cable. I am using the Silicon Labs driver that I mentioned earlier. I am able to control the radio and also send and receive audio between the radio and computer. (fldigi and WSJT-X for example).
I have also installed Virtual Box, and am able to run the Kenwood control software using Windows 7 on my iMac.

I am not using any external chipset.

To better understand, even if is working with FLDIGI, is still unrecognized by jAReC?
Can you please check to see if you have in the system a device like this?

Hi Dan,
Here is a list I get using the Terminal Utility.
jAReC.jar does not recognize anything in the Serial Ports list.
Is it possible a problem with the 'path'?
