I was using jarec_v0.9.0-1. The new jAReC_v0.9.0-3 resolved my radio control issue.
I am looking forward to the next version of Pocket RxTx and will be switching to the paid version.
Thanks for such a good program.

Dan & All Hi
I am using the new v.09 experimental with Jarec v.09 with my IC 7300 for almost one month now.
I am using both for audio and CAT control via USB and is working very good.
I have made my own custom ic-7300 with custom commands.
I have only two questions. The optional OPT_FN and OPT_NOFN with long press do not seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or I forget something?
The other thing which I have not yet managed to get working is the S-meter/ PO meter. Is there any way to make it work? Is there anybody else that have managed to get it working?
Thank you
Thanasis SV3AQT

Hello Thanasis,
Long press commands are special ones as you don't have the option to display something on the button or on the label. You can use it for example to tune when long press on the button used to activate/deactivate the ATU. A short message will be displayed.
This evening I will post a new experimental version where you can have as many option button sets and memories as you wish, by having multi state Fn button. You will not need to use long press for more commands.
Related to radio feedback for S-meter, etc., you need to build the right read command, add it to the POLLING line and activate feedback in the interface. You can use as an example the config from Yaesu FT-857 or FT-450. I will take a look too and try to help you with the right read command. Some calibration parameters may be needed, which requires to have a radio for that.
If you want, please send me your current config and I will publish it in the central repository with your callsign.
Than you,

Dan,
Thank you for the response and the info for a new experimental version.
I will definitely try that one with the more functions.
regarding the S-meter reading ICOM uses slightly different protocol than YAESU to read the S-meter.The tranceiver CIV response It can be 1 or 2 bytes depending on the reading. It uses 0-255 numbers and while below S9 is one byte above that is two bytes. I am not sure how I should configure that in the .radio configuration file since in the configuration command the byte length is pre-defined as I understand.
Regarding the audio I have been testing the tranceiver with both Prxtx (audio via USB) and also with Skype (via the ACC on the back of the tranceiver).
The reports I am getting was that Skype audio was better close to natural MIC input while when using Prxtx audio had some interruptions/break of the words. I am not sure if it is related to the Codec used in Prxtx or something else.
I will send you my configuration file for IC-7300 to your email.
Thank you & 73s de SV3AQT

Hi Thanasis,
I will take a look and if required I will extend the feedback routine to support variable length answers through new tags in the config. You're right, currently the expected answer must be fixed length.
Regarding audio, Pocket RxTx use uLaw codec over TCP which require a min 64kbps low latency link. Skype use a proprietary low latency, low bitrate and very efficient codec (over UDP). I will add in the future support for more efficient codecs, but I still have some core functionalities to work on first.
A new audio routine may be available as soon as the audio part of the RigExpert WTI-1 support will be ready. Then RTSP will be used for audio over UDP, but with the same uLaw codec. A much better audio quality (related to interruptions) is expected.
As a side note, the same uLaw codec is used in WebSDR, so this was the main reason to start with this one.
Thank you.

I have installed the 16 version and use it for a FT-991. When it first starts I have audio, but before the initialization is complete (a matter of seconds) the audio stops and the radio is hung up. I have to turn the radio off and on to recover. I have not had time to really look at the cat commands being issued. I did do the long press on the start button to load the new config file. Feel free to send email for faster response.

Dan Hi
I have installed the new v9.0.16 in my samsung S5 and the jarec 9.0.16 in the laptop running win XP.
The mobile app does not seem to respond in my mobile while the v 8 works fine and also the previous experimental v9.0.1 was working ok.
I do not know if there is a bug or it is just me.
I have made a clear installation after uninstalled all previous versions and deleted manually the files in the phone.
