Issue with antenna selection on 817

Post by wk0g »

Dan:
I didn't notice before I set down to make some HF contacts using my wire beam. The CAT program defaults to the front antenna on the FT-817 and will not let me select the rear antenna. If I select it it changes it back. Any thoughts? 73

Hi Joe,

I''ve used during my tests only the front antenna, so maybe this is the reason I have not seen this behaviour.
On Sunday evening I will release a new version (0.2) which will fix this issue too.

Thank you for your feedback and best regards,

Dan:
FYI the only Yaesu I own is the FT-817 and as you know it does not have a way to activate an auto tuner from the radio. The other transceivers in the Yaesu 8XX line up include an antenna tune key to activate the auto tuner function for an attached auto tuner such as the MFJ-929, Yaesu FC-30 and the LDG tuners. Going forward you might want to plan for this feature if the app is to be used with the other Yaesu 8XX radios.

Hi Joe,
I'm using an Elecraft T1 with my 817.
I will add a TUNE button when new transceivers will be supported.
Fot the moment all I want is to make it "perfect" for 817.
