9v Battery Turns over the 12v Relay?

I just went ahead and fed a 12 volt wall wart to power my magloop controller, but how did you get the 9 volt battery to power the 12 volt relay?

Look into the datasheet:

For that kind of relay the pull-in voltage is max 75%, meaning 9V.
During my tests was much lower, around 7V.
