Hi,

Can I save in the central repository your config file?
This may help other users.

Thank you,
Dan

Hi Dan,

sorry for delay, crazy days in work past 2 weeks, many days outside my city + 2 little childrens = no time at home for hobby.

4m - My radio ending on 56.000 MHz with all mode. Then starts on 76.00 - 108 MHz, but only WFM. No 4m hamband possibility. HW limitations of FT-857.

Im deleted old confing and load MysticFire.

FMN is now working. Now is PKT mode not working, also when manualy switched via display on radio stays on PocketRXTX last modulation.

PWR set still not working. In PocketRXTX is 0,5 ; 1,0 ; 2,5 ; 5,0 ; 20 ; 45 ; 75 ; 100W. But PWR from FT857 on 160m to 6m is 5 to 100W. On 2m is 5 to 50W and on 70cm is 2W to 20W. This is possible settings via display. Maybe values outside are problem.

SWR meter is not working, with unplugged antenna with 5W (yes, im know, dirty) on VHF / HF and with HISWR (and full bargraph in SWR metering mode) on display PocketRXTX is SWR 1 :) Switching betwen rx (s-meter) and TX (SWR meter) now works, tried many times.

Big problem for remote operation is radio hang on TX when BT / network is disconnected during transmission, needs to setup TOT in radio to safe value (for me 2 min), menu 084 in FT-857D.

Frequency readings when is changed on radio now works...

VFO, CTC, DCS, VFO under FN not works. SPLIT, LOCK not present.

Workset for Anton preset is not possible to start, same picture as MysticFire » Mon Sep 07, 2015 5:09 pm

Im using FT-857 as backpack radio for sota and florafauna activations, in this case is direct control faster and safer as via PocketRXTX. Other time lies in backpack at home without using. My post are only for information, you don't must work on this problem for me ;) For me is play, not needs.

For intermittent remote using via PC and smartphone im using IC7000 with BKT solutions directly written for this radio together with my wife for remote On and Off of IC7000 by comand via phone :lol: .

Sry for poor english.

Chers, Anton

Same for me, unfortunately...

In between I've succeed to buy at a good price an FT857 with no display (missing completely) so I'm now more than interested to make the application fully support FT857 for all available functions. I write now a small Java app used to individually edit/read EEPROM locations. This will allow to better understand locations for different parameters, as it seems to be a lot of differences from FT817.
Just as an example, CAT baudrate for FT817 is stored in location 0x64, but for FT857 in location 0x94. I will post here an Excel file and users will be able to collaborate on learning FT857 EEPROM map.

I found this Library. The .h file in the zip looks interesting

I know the site. Unfortunately I don't see there more than the CAT commands documented in the radio user guide.
I am missing something?

Well like rpt option and stuff, also + - and so. But i need to have a deeper look on this Library. And i heard of undocumented CAT Commands. Maybe that Library helps us a bit

In HRD there is a feature to display only the changes in the EEPROM. If you set the parameters from the Radio front panel maybe you can see the value changed in EEPROM. My FT857 does not have any display at all (is missing), so I cannot do it for the moment.
The java app I work on will automate this "searching" procedure to help speed-up the process. As soon as ready I will post a message here.

Thank you,
Dan

I tested rpt shift. 2m with 600 khz shift works. But 70cm with 7,6 MHZ don't yet

CMD_SET_RPT_MIN=09,00,00,00,09
CMD_SET_RPT_PLUS=49,00,00,00,09
CMD_SET_RPT_SIMPLEX=89,00,00,00,09
CMD_SET_OFFSET_0600=00,06,00,00,F9
CMD_SET_OFFSET_7600=07,60,00,00,F9

Thats my setting
