Good Advice. Always good to have a Backup first

In Pocket RxTx there is a protection implemented. Even if you define in the config file an "Reset FT-817 to factory defaults and blow away all "soft" calibration settings" command (xx xx xx xx BE) this is filtered by the application and not sent to the radio.
Unfortunately this does not prevent you to send individual write commands for a specific location, so an EEPROM backup before playing with Pocket RxTx is mandatory. This is specified in the application user guide too.

Hi,

It seems that with FT857D (in my case), current command to read PTT status:
CMD_READ_PTT=04,00,00,00,00,00,F7,<R>,01,<0xxxxxxx=ON;1xxxxxxx=OFF>
is not the right one. As stated here:
http://www.ka7oei.com/ft817_meow.html
"Command F7 - Read Transmitter Status: This command returns one byte containing the current transmitter status. This data is invalid when the radio is in receive mode. This data is as follows:
...
Bit 7 indicates the current PTT status: 0 = Unkeyed, 1 = Keyed"

This means that you can read PTT status as much as the radio is in Tx, but as soon as back in Rx mode, you cannot detect this through this read command.
We need to find something else.

I made VFO work on fn too, and SPLIT works now too.

Re: Yaesu radios config files

Post by yo3ggx »

Hi,

Thank you for the update. Is now in the repository too.
Please do a small correction in your config. Delete the space(blank) at the end of the following line:
Pic=ft857.jpg
On some versions of the application this space make the application not to load the radio picture.
Thank you for your continuous support.

Best regards,
Dan

Hi all,

Yaesu FT-950 config is now available in the repository.
If someone is able to test it I kindly ask him to send me some feedback.
