Unfortunately bad news from my tests.

1. first test was setting host pc in server mode and my local laptop as client with headphones.

RESULTS: a) i got audio back and forth from my laptop headset to the host pc
b) in first attempt to connect it wasn't able to so i had to start over again and try 2nd attempt
c) after connecting to host pc i listen to audio but no visuals on the server and client either - cannot see which band i am, frequency et.c
d) button PTT LOCK is missing the release function (via code i guess) so when we press it again it should stop PTT

2. second test was the direct mode only from the host pc

RESULTS: have exactly the same issue like result c) on first test. Cannot see which mode i am, which frequency, any of other settings of radio... just nothing. Only the needle of the meter i could see.

3. third and final test was server mode (v3) so i could see how pocket-rxtx works

RESULTS: works really well in that mode and from Pocket-RXTX i was able to fully control my radio.

Here is a demo video of my first 2 tests. Dan keep in mind that on the left side is the remote pc which i control via VNC and the right side, is Jarec in client mode.

Hello Jimmy,

Let me check again with FT450, as all the tests were performed with my IC-705 and a Xiegu G90. I did some changes in the CAT engine to make it compatible with G90. This modification broken the FT450 (and other chacacter based protocol radios) support

Please wait for v4b11 later this morning.
I was tired yesterday evening and didn't tested on FT450 too, to observe the issue before posting b10.

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

Good morning Dan

Not to worry :) its totally understandable.

Yes perhaps it is as you say. The communication seems like broken with ft-450.
Will be awaiting v4b10 to make new tests :)

Best 73s and have a great weekend. I enjoy DXing in weekends

Yes absolutely understandable. Well when i am at home i dedicate my time to my kids.
But when i am on the road at work (in the car, to delivery spare parts to customers) i make DXing :)
Thanks to your amazing apps Dan.

Thank you so much for this.

Good morning Dan

I had a busy weekend...

Made some tests today regardign v4b11.
What i tested were: direct mode, server mode (v3)

Direct mode:

1. the needle of meter still has some issues. You will see in the demo video. The same happens for other modes of the meter. Sometimes swr is showing correct and sometimes not. Its all in the video.

2. once you open the main window of direct mode, the MODE is not displayed (after you click connect of course). You have to click with mouse and change to desired mode in order to view. But you cannot see the actual MODE (usb, lsb et.c) of where the radio is tuned.

3. PTTLOCK button works as expected now without any problems.

4. SWR under tuner menu inside direct mode, works fine. But i think it lags some accuracy. Sometimes it shows 1.3 (which was correct for example - for 40m band) and sometimes shows 1.0 (which is not correct).

Server mode (v3):

1. i had to press "power" button on pocket rxtx 3 times in order to connect to Jarec v4b11. I saw an error message (i think that the video screenshot captured that error). After it finally connected it was working fine and all functions were ok.

Here is the link to video https://www.iplayradio.net/cdn/files/pu ... -v4b11.avi

I now only have to test server mode and client mode in order to see if everything works fine too. Will do that test later on today and write a new post reply here.

Best 73s, Jimmy.

It may be that the CAL_SMETER and CAL_SWRMETER definition does not match your radio calibration values, so you may need to edit them.
From the video I have no clue, as I don't see the radio meter to compare them. I suppose you are using 38400 as Baudrate, I'm right?

I am not able to reproduce this behavior here. Are you using the latest radio configuration file from the central repository?
4. SWR under tuner menu inside direct mode, works fine. But i think it lags some accuracy. Sometimes it shows 1.3 (which was correct for example - for 40m band) and sometimes shows 1.0 (which is not correct).

This is related to the calibration data for the SWRMETER.

There are no changes related to the server mode (v3) from b10 to b11.
I now only have to test server mode and client mode in order to see if everything works fine too. Will do that test later on today and write a new post reply here.
Thank you for your help.

I wasn't aware about that part... that i have to make calibration. I do not know how to do that.
When you say Radio Meter... you mean the actual radio meter from ft-450d ? I cannot have PPC-450 (yaesu original app for controlling the radio) and Jarec run at the same time as they conflict in the port number.
I wish there was a way i could have both Jarec + PPC-450 app to run together... i could then see a good comparison. Yes, my baudrate is 38.400. Is it wrong ? I am using all software that use CAT with my radio with that same baudrate and never had issues.
I am not able to reproduce this behavior here. Are you using the latest radio configuration file from the central repository?
Of course on every beta version i run for testing, i always first download the configuration file for my radio and then move on to tests.
I am not able to reproduce this problem here. It may be related to your connectivity?
There are no changes related to the server mode (v3) from b10 to b11.
Its weird... perhaps we can call this a one time incident... it might not happen again. I was on wifi tho. So its strange. No worries for that part.

Dan, will it be important if i re-run the tests with the "run_debug" so you can perhaps see something from there ?

The only thing now left to test is server / client modes.
