Hi Jimmy,
SY1DAL wrote: Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:37 am Everything seems to be ok in between server and client modes but i spotted a small delay. It could be an internet connection issue tho... cannot be sure 100% (from the host side as at home i have fiber).
To be more precise in that delay, i am referring only to the PTT. All other information on screen were instant. As i had side by side both windows (server and client) all data were the same and with no delay but PTT had a delay. And that is not so convenient when in a QSO as the other participant might believe you are gone or lost from propagation.
PTT status is updated in the client only after the radio confirms is in Tx mode, so if you have network latency this can impact the reaction time.
Also spotted that on client window i could not see the MODE (lsb, usb,fm et.c) while i was connected to server.
I've seen that sometimes when you connect from the client, MODE label is not updated and remains grayed out, but if you change it, is updated. Can you confirm this?
Will be anyway fixed in b13.
Another weird thing that happened in the logging (when pressing L) was that after inserting all the information correctly of my QRZ credentials, i was typing a callsign and i was getting error message in box that my QRZ account cannot query and needs subscription. That is so weird. It shouldn't happen. Its not happening on mobile version like i mentioned in another post.
Try first the provided QRZ link to test and we will see after that.

Good morning Dan,
Maybe I was not clear in my previous post. It doesn't take 30s (just a coincidence), it can take forever if you don't change the frequency, but forget about this, is fixed in b13, so the frequency and mode will be available as soon as you start the log if the radio is ON.
Ok understood now. But so glad it will be fixed :)
Is very clear what you say, but, again, both apps use absolutely the same routine to query the database. QRZ does not allow users to have more than one account, so I cannot test myself, but let's see if other users will test this.
There is no other way to query the QRZ database except through XML files and on QRZ page is clearly stated that you cannot do XML queries without a paid subscription.
Please go to this page, enter your QRZ credentials and make a query to see what is returned, compared with jAReC v4.
https://xml.qrz.com/xcheck
Well it shows i am not a subscriber but retrieves some information but not the complete record. For me tho this is fine... no need to have an XML subscription. Its just only strange on why last night on my laptop after entering the QRZ credentials i could not get any info for a QSO i was. It was not even getting the free info you are allowed to get like "name, city and country" .

73s,

Jimmy, check this page:
https://www.qrz.com/XML/current_spec.html
where is clearly stated:
"While any QRZ user may login to the service, an active QRZ Logbook Data subscription is required to access most of its features. Non-subscriber access limits the data fields that are returned and is primarily intended for testing and troubleshooting purposes only."

I really don't know how can you get full data from Pocket RxTx with a free account, as this is not possible.

It may be that the callsign you tried to query is not registered in QRZ? Then only the Country is displayed, based on the callsign prefix.

Where the host pc is located (the radio shack) unfortunatelly internet speed is not so good.
I will find a way to make it better. Most likely the latency is due to that reason. I am sure this is not a BUG.

I will be able only to confirm this tonight as now in the office i cannot test . Glad tho it will be fixed :)

I tried the qrz link you provided. I gave you my reply on that... perhaps you didn't see it ? It shows i am not an xml subscriber but it allows me to make query and brings only "name, city and country" - these are fine for me to be saved in the logbook - the only things i write by hand are the RST received and RST sent and click save. Thats what i do all times in Pocket RXTX at least.

I didnt mention anywhere here that i am getting full data retrieval on pocket rxtx :)

That maybe one reason indeed... some callsigns are not registered in QRZ. Well we have to live with that :)

Hello, I'm trying to use V4b19 in Server (v3) compatibility mode with Pocket RxTx app. I can connect once but after disconnecting I get the message: (You cannot restart connection when connected from the client), when trying to reconnect. Jarec V3 works fine with the same configuration. Am I missing something?

Hi Phil.

b19 is an internal beta version with some bugs to be solved in b20.
Please wait for the public version which will be posted in this thread.
